Tokyo stocks open higher on US-China trade rumours

Tokyo, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 18th Jan, 2019 ) :Tokyo stocks opened higher on Friday, tracking gains on Wall Street as investors took heart from a report the US could lift trade tariffs on China.

The benchmark Nikkei 225 index rose 0.27 percent or 54.56 points to 20,456.83 in early trade while the broader Topix index was up 0.27 percent or 4.15 points at 1,547.35.
