Tourist Arrivals In Morocco Up 8.3 Pct In 2018

A total of 12.28 million tourists visited Morocco last year, up 8.3 percent compared to 2017, according to statistics released by the Moroccan Tourism Ministry on Wednesday
The number of foreign tourists jumped by 14 percent, while the arrivals of Moroccans living abroad rose two percent in 2018, the statistics showed.
Meanwhile, tourism revenues reached 7.65 billion U.S. Dollars in 2018, 1.4 percent higher from a year ago.
In December alone, nearly one million tourists visited Morocco, six-percent increase compared to the same month of 2017.
Morocco's tourism sector accounts for five percent of the country's gross domestic product (GDP) and offers over 500,000 jobs.
