Two People Killed In Household Gas Blast In Russia's Rostov Region - EMERCOM

ROSTOV-ON-DON (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 12th May, 2019) ON-DON, May 12 (Sputnik) - Two people were killed as a result of household gas blast in an apartment building in Kamensky District of the Rostov Region, a spokesperson for the regional directorate of the Russian Emergencies Ministry told reporters on Sunday.

The blast occurred at 00.30 local time [21.

30 GMT Saturday] in a 16-apartment 2-storey residential building on Lenin Street in the town of Chistoozerny.

"One person was killed [at the scene], 12 people were evacuated, two of them to the Central Regional Hospital of Kamensk-Shakhtinsky. One of them died in the ambulance (girl born 2010)," the spokesperson said.

The work of the rescuers is complicated by the threat of the collapse of the remaining parts of the building, the spokesperson told Sputnik.

The woman injured in the accident is in serious condition, an employee of the hospital told Sputnik.
