US Funds Feasibility Study For Vietnam Liquefied Natural Gas Terminal - Trade Agency

A US grant will fund a feasibility study to assess sight selection and optimal designs for a planned liquefied natural gas (LNG) terminal in Vietnam, the US Trade Development Agency (USTDA) said in a press release on Wednesday

WASHINGTON (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 22nd May, 2019) A US grant will fund a feasibility study to assess sight selection and optimal designs for a planned liquefied natural gas (LNG) terminal in Vietnam, the US Trade Development Agency (USTDA) said in a press release on Wednesday.

"USTDA's feasibility study will set the initial parameters for the growth of LNG in the nation and bring much-needed affordable and accessible power to Vietnam's southern region, while also opening new opportunities for US firms to supply gas infrastructure solutions," the release said.

The US grant also supports USTDA's Gas Infrastructure Exports Initiative, which is the use of American LNG in partner countries by connecting project sponsors to cutting-edge technologies, equipment and long-term development, the release said.

Vietnam plans to invest $1 billion on a terminal for LNG imports, according to the release.
