US stocks close sharply lower as global growth fears spur sell-off

New York, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 15th Dec, 2018 ) :US stocks sold off to close the week on Friday, with fears of slowing global growth pushing all three major Wall Street indices down about two percent.

The benchmark Dow Jones Industrial Average fell two percent to 24,100.95, while thebroader S&P 500 fell 1.9 percent to 2,600.06. The tech-heavy Nasdaq sank the furthest, losing2.3 percent to finish at 6,910.66.
