ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 20th Jul, 2018 ) :Over 108 students from across the country studying at colleges and universities will spend a semester in the United States (US) alongside American peers under a US funded programme.
During a pre-departure orientation in Islamabad, a representative of American Embassy John Hoover congratulated the students who have been selected to participate in the fall 2018 Global Undergraduate Exchange Programme (Global UGRAD), a press release Friday said.
Hoover told the students that they would become "powerful messengers" between United States and Pakistan and will tell stories that go beyond the headlines.
The stories will give their friends and families a genuine understanding of the shared values between the two nations, he added.
A female participant of 2017 Global UGRAD Ferzana Ansari shared stories of her year studying in New Jersey and explained how her time abroad changed her. "I fully realized all that I had gained from the UGRAD experience only after I came back," she said.
