Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU) will continue to provide free education to four-categories of people, prisoners, handicapped, transgender community and drop-out girls, this was stated here on Wednesday
Islamabad (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 22nd January, 2020) Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU) will continue to provide free education to four-categories of people, prisoners, handicapped, transgender community and drop-out girls, this was stated here on Wednesday.It is the part of University's standing policy of taking care of marginalized sections of society and to ensure that nobody should be deprived of education owing to financial constraints.
It also aimed at encouraging them come into mainstream of educational net.Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Zia-Ul-Qayyum wishes that these people should take benefit of the AIOU's incentives, so as to continue their future and to enjoy a respectable life in the society.The University has already opened first-phase of admissions that cover Matric, F.
A.
MS/M.Ph, PhD programs. The people of the four-categories could apply for the admission by February 21 according to prescribed rules and procedure, as laid down in the prospectus.The admission's facility is provided to the prisoners through the relevant Jail Authorities.
While, the people of the rest of the categories have been advised to apply through the University's Regional office of their respective area.It may be mentioned here that the University also extend free Maric -level education to the people from the marginalized areas that include Baluchistan and the Tribal regions. It also provides various scholarships to the deserving people.
