Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU) Holds National Seminar On Promotion Of Microsoft Office

Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU) here on Wednesday held a national seminar for capacity-building of its students and faculty for using internet skills, particularly the Microsoft office (MOS).
ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 24th Oct, 2018 ) :Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU) here on Wednesday held a national seminar for capacity-building of its students and faculty for using internet skills, particularly the microsoft office (MOS).
The seminar was arranged in collaboration with Higher Education Commission (HEC) and TEC Education Foundation which also presided over by the University's Acting Vice Chancellor Dr Nasir Mahmood, while President of the Foundation, Senator Rukhsana Zubari was the chief guests.
It was aimed at promoting opportunities for students and faculty to get certification Microsoft Office so as�to ensure professional proficiency in academic and official working.� The HEC has authorized the TEC Education for certification exam development, delivery, and programme management services.
The Vice Chancellor hoped that the maximum number of students will get themselves certified through the exams, which will be conducted at the University's main campus and some regional offices.
He highlighted the University's recent initiatives that were aimed at bringing education at the door-step of the people, through the smart use of new technology and other online facilities.
The University, he said is gradually developing itself as IT-university to enable its students to meet the new challenges in the educational sector.
In 21st�century, Dr Nasir Mahmood said the Universities' role has become more important for the personality's development, so that the students after completing their education could serve the society in a better way.
Senator Rukhsana Zuberi said they have launched the MOS certification exam on countrywide basis in order to empower the youth to improve their living-conditions through the best use of new mode of communication.
She assured that the students by qualifying the examination would be able to prove their professional caliber in the open market and in�their professional career.�� She appreciated the AIOU for its existing country-wide strong academic infrastructure network and hoped that its students will take benefit of MOS's certification, offered by TEC Foundation.
The seminar was also addressed�by�Dr. Moiz Uddin Ahmed,�Head of Computer Science, Dr. Ajmal Farooq Director Information Technology, Rana Tariq Javed Director Students' Affairs, Ahsan Shakoor, Additional Director Regional Services and Abdul Malik technical expert, TEC Foundation.
For pursuing the MOS's certification programme, an Examination centre has already been established at the University's�Computer Science department with latest and state of the art computer systems.
The IT Professionals has also been nominated for the invigilation of the examination. Under the arrangements, students with MOS vouchers could visit CS department and appear in the examination which will be conducted online under the supervision of MOS Administrator.
