Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU) Holds Seminar To Highlight Importance Of Electrochemistry

Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU) here on Tuesday held an interactive-seminar to highlight the importance of electrochemistry and material sciences in the country's socio-economic development.

ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 17th Jul, 2018 ) :Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU) here on Tuesday held an interactive-seminar to highlight the importance of electrochemistry and material sciences in the country's socio-economic development.

Dr Waseem Haider of Central Michigan University, USA was the resource person at the seminar who shared his research-based study on the recent trends in electrochemistry of 3D printed stainless steel.

It was the part of the initiatives taken by Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Shahid Siddiqui to promote quality research in the country that relevant to society's socio-economic needs.

The seminar, arranged by the University's department of Chemistry was attended by the students of M.

Phil and PhD.

Dean Sciences Dr Zafar Ilayas and Chairman Department of Chemistry, Dr Nagmana Rashid also addressed the seminar and spoke about the University's concerted efforts, enhancing the standard of research in different disciplines.

They pointed out the University was providing the best possible support to the research-based activities through well-equipped labs and libraries. The University offers various programs in sciences at the level BSc, MS, M.Phil and PhD.

On instructions of the Vice Chancellor, some new programs were also introduced to the meet the needs of the students.
