Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU) To Upgrade Its Labs At 44 Regional Offices

Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU) has decided to upgrade its existing labs and libraries at its forty-four regional offices across the country, with the use of new technology and internet service
ISLAMABAD (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 19th March, 2019) Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU) has decided to upgrade its existing labs and libraries at its forty-four regional offices across the country, with the use of new technology and internet service.The decision to this effect was taken at the regional directors' conference held here, through video conferencing.Vice-Chancellor, Professor Dr.
Zia-Ul-Qayyum who presided over the meeting announced that each lab will have 20-25 computers, beside others facilities like multi-media. It will be done in a gradual process, and will be completed at the earliest.The Libraries will have the additional study material like text-books which could be borrowed by the students and resource persons at the time of their need.It was also decided at the meeting that process of providing text-books to University's around 1.4 million students will be expedited, by bringing about qualitative improvement in the printing and delivery process.
A well-planned time-schedule will be observed in the books' mailing practices.
In some cases, online study material is also being made available.The meeting also reviewed the existing condition of the University's buildings and infrastructure network, so as further improve them with necessary renovation.
It was noted mostly the University has its own buildings at the regional level. At rest of places, it will also construct its buildings on the availability of reasonable land.The Vice-Chancellor announced that he will visit the regional offices to personally see their working environment and up-gradation work.
The meeting was arranged by the Directorate of Regional Services. Director Regional Services, Inamullah Sheikh on the occasion presented a detailed report of the development activities and academic achievements of regional offices.The regional directors thanked the Vice Chancellor for his quick response to their various proposals in providing excellent academic services to the students, as well as improving their working conditions.
