Conceptual Learning Must Be Promoted In Students: Syed Raza Gillani

Provincial Minister for Higher Education Syed Raza Gillani has said that teachers should promote conceptual learning approach in students. He said this while addressing the inaugural ceremony of 12-day training workshop of newly recruited lecturers here on Monday.
LAHORE, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 23rd Apr, 2018 ) :Provincial Minister for Higher education Syed Raza Gillani has said that teachers should promote conceptual learning approach in students.
He said this while addressing the inaugural ceremony of 12-day training workshop of newly recruited lecturers here on Monday. The training workshop has been organised by the Punjab Higher Education Commission.
He said: "Education pattern is changing at international level and we need to train our teachers according to the changing patterns". The minister said that teachers should develop critical and analytical abilities in students besides playing their role in making students useful citizens.
The minister said that newly appointed lecturers were aware of semester system so their role for the success of four years BS programme would be of high importance.
He said that this years almost 3,271 lecturers had been recruited in government colleges.
He said that 12-days training of newly recruited lecturers would be analyzed and same workshop would be arranged for assistant professors and professors. The minister said that regularization, promotion, scholarships and transfer/posting of teachers had been linked with these training courses.
Punjab Higher Education Commission, Lahore Chairperson Dr Muhammad Nizamuddin said that lecturers would be giving training about teaching efficacy and other professional matters. University of Education Vice Chancellor Dr Rauf-i-Azam, Punjab Higher Education Additional Secretary Muhammad Tanveer and others were also present.
