Education experts on Wednesday emphasized the need for taking effective steps for a uniform education system to be introduced in the country for developing a collective approach
While talking to a private tv news channel, they also put stress on protection and promotion of national urdu language which represents our cultural heritage.
They further explained, every nation had its own culture and language and had been the first identity of any culture, therefore, a uniform education was a must.
They suggested that the Urdu or English language debate has to be stopped now and an honest approach should be adopted. Both Urdu and English languages must get premium time and the best of learning tools to make students fluent in both languages while research clearly enunciates that the use of the mother tongue at the Primary level promotes better understanding and literacy, they added.
Education expert, Khalid Khan highlighted the importance of a uniform educational system, which, according to him is essential to achieve targets and other sustainable development goals, as well as prevention of class-based education in the country.
He further demanded the government to bring consistency in the educational policy to provide quality education to the future generations.
He viewed that curriculum plays a vital role in nation building and it must be developed in the light with constitution and ideology of the country.
The government must ensure that our kids get high-quality education at an affordable fee which is in the larger interest of the country, another educationist Akhtar Arayen said.
He strongly believes that only an educated Pakistan will be able to move forward otherwise, we will be left way behind and the country will continue to face crisis,.
He also hailed the present government's resolve to implement uniform education system in the country.
There should be equal teacher's training sessions for all sector's schools, he said, adding, new methodologies of teaching should be introduced in government schools.
The educationists demanded that the government teachers should be elected completely on merit basis through Public Service Commission.
They suggested , government should monitor and evaluate teams for government schools which can keep a check and balance in government schools.
He said private schools are undoubtedly expensive and should make an attempt to optimize the pay structure to make quality education more affordable to a greater section of the population.
"We also demand the government to take care of public schools, put a hold on these private prison cells disguised as educational institutions, have strict rules and criteria for the functioning of a private school, ban the demand of donations, there will be no standardized school system in country".
These private school mafias, if not controlled, will engulf all public schools leaving them in ruins, they concluded.
