Founder's Week Concluded In Sindh University

The Vice Chancellor University of Sindh Prof. Dr. Fateh Muhammad Burfat paid glowing tributes to the founding Vice Chancellor Allama I.I.Kazi, at the concluding ceremony of founder's week here on Wednesday
The week long celebrations chalked out by Bureau of students tutorial guidance counseling services and co-curricular activities (STAGS) of the varsity with reference to his 133rd birthday and completion of 68 years of his joining as Vice Chancellor University of Sindh.
Prof. Dr. Fateh Muhammad Burfat termed the late Vice Chancellor was a great exponent of modern Sindhi education and a iconic philosopher of the 20th century and pledged to bring the university at par with the best varsities of the world in order to fulfill the dream of Allama I. I. Kazi.
Dr. Burfat eulogized Allama's services as an educationist and a philosopher who devoted his whole life to the great cause of education, adding that Allama Kazi was not only the founding Vice Chancellor of the University but he also was promoter of contemporary Sindhi language and heritage.
He said that such seminars and conferences would be organized in an attempt to convey his messages and philosophy to the youth studying at the campus.
He said Allama Kazi always stood for human principles. He was one of those few thinkers in the Islamic world who integrated eastern and western philosophies, adding that the late VC always remained concerned about development and progress of education and knowledge.
Dr. Burfat said Allama Kazi had always struggled for changing overall conditions of Muslim Ummah because he himself was an enlightened Muslim.
He said that in the current year, Sindh University had been put on number 20 in ranking of 174 universities of the country by HEC, explaining that earlier, it stood on number 37.
He vowed that he would take all that was necessary to ensure that University of Sindh gets in top ten rank within a year or two.
Dr. Burfat stated that Allama I.I. Kazi got birth in 1886 in Hyderabad but he belonged to a small village of district Dadu named Paat Sharif who matriculated in 1905 from Bombay University and after intermediate, he completed degree in law from Lincolns University- one of the best institutions in the world.
He said Allama Kazi taught Sindhi, German languages, philosophy, psychology, sociology, biology and physics at Department of Oriental languages, University of London in 1928.
On the occasion a tri-lingual English, urdu and Sindhi live essay writing and on-spot photography competitions were held in a bid to pay glowing tributes to the founder vice chancellor Allama I. I. Kazi.
The Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Fateh Muhammad Burfat gave away certificates and shields to the winning students that included Nayab Raza first position, Nadir Ali Abbasi 2nd and Dua Nizamani 3rd in English essay writing competition, Sheeren Khaskheli, Altaf Hussain Khokhar and Wajahat Hussain got first, second and third positions respectively in Sindhi essay writing competition and Narmeen Surhiyo, Jahanzaib Javed and Masroor Ali bagged three respective positions in Urdu live essay writing competition. Dr. Burfat announced a special prize of Rs. 5000 from his own pocket for student Muhammad Ameen who made an exceptionally impressive portrait of Allama Kazi.
