France Ambassador Marc Barely Opens Alumni Center At UET Peshawar

The French Ambassador to Pakistan, Marc Barely Tuesday said that France wants to be a gateway for Pakistani students for Europe.
PESHAWAR, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 23rd Oct, 2018 ) :The French Ambassador to Pakistan, Marc Barely Tuesday said that France wants to be a gateway for Pakistani students for Europe.
He stated this during his visit to University of Engineering and Technology (UET) Peshawar. He also met Vice Chancellor University of Peshawar Prof. Dr. Asif Khan and Vice Chancellor Islamia University Peshawar Prof Dr. Habib-ur-Rehman.
He also opened the French Alumni Center at UET Peshawar. The basic objective of the center was to establish and foster relations with Pakistani universities in the fields of applied sciences and research.
The ambassador further stated that France, the country of philosophers would welcome more students and faculty to receive their higher education in French universities.
French universities were open to International universities as there was no language barrier. International students, he said, were allowed to get higher education in English though it was encouraged to learn French language for convenient living in France.
Vice Chancellor UET Peshawar Prof. Dr. Iftikhar Hussain said that France and Pakistan, cooperating in the field of culture and education, had strong diplomatic ties. He encouraged faculty to attend the education exhibition that would be held in France next year, displaying research products and cultural side of Pakistan.
The reception was attended by senior faculty and administration including Pro-Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Noor Muhammad, Dean Faculty of Electrical Engineering Prof. Dr. M. Naeem Arbab, Dean Faculty of Mechnical Engineering Prof. Dr. M.A. Irfan, Dean Faculty of Computer and Allied Sciences Prof. Dr. Siraj-ul-Islam, Registrar Dr. Khizar Azam Khan, Treasurer Nek Muhammad Khan, Chairman Chemical Engineering Department Prof. Dr. M. Younas and the representatives of French Embassy Adre-de Bussy.
