State Minister for Textile Hajji Muhammad Akram Ansari on Tuesday said the government was utilizing all available resources to provide best educational facilities to women so that they could play their dynamic role in national progress and prosperity
FAISALABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 06th Feb, 2018 ) :State Minister for Textile Hajji Muhammad Akram Ansari on Tuesday said the government was utilizing all available resources to provide best educational facilities to women so that they could play their dynamic role in national progress and prosperity.
He was inaugurating construction of an academic block comprising of 20 classrooms at Government Girls Degree College Ghulam Muhammad Abad here. This project would be completed with an estimated cost of Rs.42.6 million.
The state minister said the construction of classrooms was in full swing in five girl colleges in his constituency with an estimated cost of Rs 185 million and completion of this project would facilitate for more enrolment in these colleges.
He said Rs 210 million were being spent to establish Home Economic College for Women in Afghan Abad whereas additional academic blocks were being constructed in Govt Girls College Karkhana Bazaar, Govt Girls College Ghulam Muhammad Abad, Govt Girls College Saif Abad, Govt Islamia College for Women and Govt College Gulshan Colony.
He said special attention was also being paid to distribute sewing machines among poor women in order to facilitate them for their honorable livelihood. He said females were integral part of the society and no nation could make progress without active contribution of women.
"Therefore, it is our joint responsibility to focus on education and training of the females in addition to involve them in mainstream of national development," he added. Earlier, in her welcome address, College Principal Riffat Ayesha Meer highlighted the performance of her institute and said that women had a lot of talent if they were provided opportunity to flourish their abilities and capabilities.
The women could also bring laurel for Pakistan at international level if they were provided conducive environment in education and other sectors, she added. A large number college teachers and students were also present on the occasion.
