Higher Education Regulatory Authority (HERA) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Summons Vice Chancellor City University Over Lack Of Registration

Higher Education Regulatory Authority (HERA) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has through a notice directed the Vice Chancellor, City University of Science Information Technology Dilazak Road Peshawar to appear before the chairman HERA on October 1.

PESHAWAR, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 25th Sep, 2018 ) :Higher education Regulatory Authority (HERA) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has through a notice directed the Vice Chancellor, City University of Science Information Technology Dilazak Road Peshawar to appear before the chairman HERA on October 1.

The notice said that the Vice Chancellor applied for registration of a sub-campus of University at Phase III Chowk, Peshawar with Higher Education Regulatory Authority (HERA) Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, which has been under consideration.

The notice issued to the private university under the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Registration and functioning of Private Educational institutions (Amendment) Ordinance, 2002 (KP Ordinance No. XXVII of 2001) and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Higher Education Regulatory Authority Functions, Rules and Regulations 2006, stated that no institution in the private sector could commence educational activities in the province without formal registration with HERA.

The notice said that the advertisement of premature admissions of degree level by Vice Chancellor of the university in utter violation of the aforesaid statues, which render the delinquent management Liable for penal action under section 19-1 of the aforesaid Ordinance read with rules 15 and 16 of the rules ibid.

The Vice Chancellor, City University of Science Information Technology Dilazak Road Peshawar has been asked to explain his position as to why necessary legal action might not be taken against him including imposition offine, closer and black listing of the institution etc. In case of no responseon your part an ex-parte action will be taken against the management.
