Korean Parliament Members delegation's visit to Pir Mehr Ali Shah Arid Agriculture University Rawalpindi

A four-member South Korean Parliamentarian delegation led by Mr. Soo Hyuck Lee, Thursday visited Pir Mehr Ali Shah Arid Agriculture University Rawalpindi (PMAS-AAUR) here

RAWALPINDI, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 25th Apr, 2019 ) :A four-member South Korean Parliamentarian delegation led by Mr. Soo Hyuck Lee, Thursday visited Pir Mehr Ali Shah Arid Agriculture University Rawalpindi (PMAS-AAUR) here.

The purpose of their visit was to share the performance/achievements of Pak-Korea Capacity Building Centre for Agriculture & Livestock Technology (PKCBC) which was established in 2016 at PMAS-AAUR with the financial help of Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) to improve Socio- Economic conditions and livelihoods of farming communities.

A proposal of Agriculture Technology Incubation & Transfer Center was also shared with the Korean Parliament's members to enhance the agricultural production through developing and indigenizing efficient and environment friendly technologies and its promotion to farming communities of rain-fed areas of Pakistan.

The parliament's members hope that this project will be helpful to improve the livelihood of rural community of the Potohar Region and uplifting of their socio-economic status on sustainable basis.

In his welcome address, Prof. Dr. Qamar-uz-Zaman Vice Chancellor PMAS-AAUR said that this center helped a lot to our scientists about modern techniques in agriculture and livestock from the exchange program of Experts and we need to continue this sort of joint initiatives focusing technology development and its promotion.

Vice Chancellor also expressed gratitude for the support of Peoples Republic of Korea in establishing this Center and the hard work of the management, faculty members, trainers and the support staff of the university in achieving the objectives of this Center.
