Ministry Of Human Rights Organizes Human Rights Seminar At Engineering Varsity

Ministry of Human Rights in connections with International Women Day organized a seminar on Human Rights Education and Sensitization here at the University of Engineering and Technology (UET) on Monday.
PESHAWAR, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 12th Mar, 2018 ) :Ministry of Human Rights in connections with International Women Day organized a seminar on Human Rights Education and Sensitization here at the University of Engineering and Technology (UET) on Monday.
Those who addressed the seminar were included Director HR, Ministry of Human Rights, Ghulam Ali, Professor Khizer Alam, Dr. Sehar Noor Zaman. Addressing the participants of the seminar, Dr. Sehar Zoor Zaman said that the purpose of the seminar was to create awareness among the engineers about the human rights.
He told that the university had established a formal complaint cell to receive grievances regarding issues relating to the violation of human rights. He said that a highly women friendly environment prevails in the university and implementing all directives of the Federal government issued in this regard.
However, he said the curriculum of the university is lacking subject on human rights and they use to taught only designing and other engineering related education.
Therefore, he said the seminar will prove highly beneficial for the students of the UET.
Speaking on Women Rights, Prospects and Challenges. Professor Dr. Ghulam Qasim Khan Marwat said that human rights is important segment of society and sans it society loss its very norms. He called for the inclusion of the lessen of human rights in our daily life,So coming generations would remain aware of it.
Otherwise, he said the present accelerated pace of development would prove of no mean. Professor Dr. Khizer Alam, another academician of the university also stressed need for the teaching of subjects regarding human rights to the students to turn children into use citizens.
Addressing the seminar, Director, Human Rights, Ghulam Ali said that Higher Education Education Commission (HEC) is working on the inclusion of the HRs subject in the curriculum of the universities. He said that out of the total nine conventions on human rights, Pakistan has already ratified seven of them.
