Talking to APP, Director NLP, Syed Ghayour Hussain said the project titled "Digitalization of Rare Books and Manuscript Collection" was approved in the budget of 2018-19.
Under this project, NLP will digitalise around 10,000 rare books and manuscripts comprising over 53, 00,000 (5.
3 million) pages, he revealed.
The digitalisation of rare books and manuscripts will serve as catalyst to aware younger generation with thoughts and messages of Quaid-i-Azam and Allama Iqbal.
It will also help students who are pursuing their research on the contributions and lives of these two personalities, he added.
Syed Ghayour Hussain informed that NLP has also started maintaining digital record of verbal conversations of experts in different fields of lives who speak on important issues in different conferences and seminars.
He said there is no record of such important talks by the leading experts so NLP has started maintaining record for the future generations.
