NUML Holds Seminar On Multilateralism, Diplomacy For Peace

ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 24th Apr, 2019 ) :National University of Modern Languages (NUML) Wednesday held a seminar to commemorate the United Nations (UN) International Day of Multilateralism and Diplomacy for Peace.

A seminar titled "Multilateralism and diplomacy for Peace" was organized by the Department of International Relation, Peace and Conflict Studies and Pakistan Studies, a press release said.

Speaking as a chief guest Ambassador of Turkmenistan to Pakistan Atadjan Movlamov said Turkmenistan host UN Regional Center of Preventive Diplomacy in Ashgabat and always support values of the UN charter.

Dr Tughral Yamin, Professor and Associate Dean, Centre for International Peace and Stability, NUST said diplomacy is meant to defuse tension and prevent conflicts while multilateralism finds common grounds to mutually resolve them.

Vlastimil Samek,Director, UN Information Centre shared his thoughts and encouraged the youth to foster values of peace and multilateralism for sustainable development by use of knowledge.

NUML Rector Major General (retd) Zia-ud-Din Najam offered the vote of thanks and appreciated the timely organization of this seminar.

The seminar was attended by NUML Director General Brig Muhammad Ibrahim, UN Director General Khalil-ur-Rahman Hashmi,Ministry of Foreign Affairs, faculty of NUML, academicians, students and people of different sections of civil society.
