QUETTA, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 29th Jan, 2019 ) :Adviser to Chief Minister for Education Haji Mir Muhammad Khan Lehri on Tuesday said durable peace was not possible without promoting education in the province.

Talking to various delegations called on him at his office he said measures were being taken to ensure attendance of teachers, saying that no comprise would be made on negligence of teachers and directed concerned officers and teachers to attend their duties honestly for removing backwardness from province, said a press release here.

"For provision of qualitative education and increase in literacy rate, training of teachers and bringing necessary reforms in curriculum is prerequisite", he said.

After 18th amendment, the arrangement of setting curriculum rests with the provinces, but ironically steps had never been taken to bring curriculum according to the needs of modern day, he added He said, in order to achieve the preset goals, all stakeholders would have to play their role. Our education sectorneed immediate change and reform in the curriculum equivalent to modern standard, he added.
