S Korea To Establish Pakistan Global Institute In Pakistan

South Korea is planning to set up 'Pakistan Global Institute' in the country and awaiting Pakistan government's nod for approval of its law
This was disclosed by South Korean Ambassador to Pakistan Kwak Sung-Kyu during a meeting with Chairman Higher Education Commission (HEC) at the Commission Secretariat, said a press release here on Thursday.
During the meeting, the two sides discussed the ways to enhance collaboration in higher education and research fields.
"Pakistan Global Institute is being established wherein two disciplines, Information Technology and business Administration, will initially be started after approval of its law by the Government of Pakistan," the ambassador informed HEC chairman while highlighting the ongoing collaborative endeavours between two Asian states.
"As many as 1,650 Pakistani students are currently studying in different Korean higher education institutions," he added.
The Chairman said both countries had a great potential to strengthen cooperation in education and research field and underscored the importance of launching student and faculty exchange programmes among higher education institutions of both the countries.
"Joint research initiatives may also be undertaken to further cement academic relations."He said that the Korean Government welcomed initiatives which were meant to strengthen bilateral academic relations between the both states.
