Training workshop on 'Control of Rabies' concludes at University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences Lahore

The five-day trainimng workshop, held by the University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (UVAS) Lahore, in collaboration with Indus Hospital Karachi, held the concluding ceremony of 5-day training workshop on "One Health Approach Towards Control of Rabies", on Monday.

LAHORE, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 17th Sep, 2018 ) :The five-day trainimng workshop, held by the University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (UVAS) Lahore, in collaboration with Indus Hospital Karachi, held the concluding ceremony of 5-day training workshop on "One Health Approach Towards Control of Rabies", on Monday.

Pro Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Masood Rabbani presided over the concluding session of the workshop and distributed certificates among participants and resource persons while Director IVPD Project Dr Hafsa Zenab, chairman Department of Epidemiology Dr Hassan Mushtaq, Aftab Gouhar from Indus Hospital Karachi and a large number of faculty members and students from UVAS sub-campuses were present.

Speaking on the occasion, the Pro VC said that being a veterinarian, it is our responsibility to perform our duty with honesty and dedication to protect our society from diseases and keep environment rabies-free for welfare of human-beings.

He thanked Indus Hospital Karachi for working along with UVAS for the noble cause of saving animals from rabies and other such diseases.

He lauded the efforts of IVPD Director Dr Hafsa Zenab for providing financial support for conducting the training workshop and working actively for updating DVM curriculum according to modern day needs. He advised students to share their knowledge and experiences with other students.

Dr Hassan Mushtaq said that the aim of the training was to familiarise young veterinarians with the techniques and scientific methods for mass dog vaccination and prevention of rabies.
