UVAS Arranges Condolence Reference; Paid Rich Tribute To Dr Yaqoob Bhatti

LAHORE (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 23rd April, 2019) The University of Veterinary & Animal Sciences Lahore arranged a condolence reference in the memory of poultry legend the late Dr Mohammad YaqoobBhattiat its City Campus Lahoreon Tuesday. He was the eldest alumnus of UVAS.
He was born on 19th March 1929 and died in 22nd March 2019 and has served the country in veterinary& poultry profession. Vice-Chancellor Prof DrTalatNaseer Pasha chaired the reference in which family memberssonsof DrYaqoobBhatti, including Major YousafNadeem, Dr Abdul Kareem Bhatti, Prof DrAleemBhatti, Daughter in Law DrZarfishanTahir while Former UVAS Vice-Chancellors Prof DrManzoorQureshi and Prof Dr Muhammad Nawazand a number of UVAS senior alumni members,stakeholders from poultry industries, faculty members and students from various departments of UVAS attended. They prayed and offered Fateha for eternal peace of the departed soul and paid rich tribute to DrYaqoobBhattifor his services for the uplift of veterinaryprofession& poultry sector. Speaking on the occasion, Prof Pasha said that death of DrYaqoobBhatti was a big loss and paid tribute to his services especially his struggle and vital for the establishment of UVAS, uplift ofpoultry sector and the country. He said his services to the country & profession were exemplary & will always be remembered. Prof Pasha said thatDrYaqoob was the classfellow of my father DrMianNaseer Ahmad Saleem (Late).
He said he had always been working with full of dedication, on merit and had never compromised on it. Major YousafNadeem,Dr Abdul Kareem Bhatti,DrZarfishanTahir,DrArshadandDr Mustafa Kammal acknowledge therole and vision of DrYaqoobBhatti not only in the veterinary profession even he had in-depth knowledge aboutislam andQuran. They also shared hismemorable past memories regarding his daily routine, domestic life, practical knowledge and vision.DrYaqoobBhatti also wrote about the importance of sweet water, Kala Bagh Dam which is necessary for water saving and life of human, animals and agriculture of thiscountry. DrBhatti was sponsor and founder director of Big Bird Poultry Breeders (Pvt.) Ltd and Grand Parent Poultry (Pvt.) Ltd. He had done Ph.D in poultry husbandry.He had over 50 years experience inpublic and private sectors. He served the Punjab government as Secretary Livestock and Diary Development and the federal government as Additional Secretary in the Ministry of Food and Agriculture. He was a pioneer in poultry research anddevelopment in Pakistan.He was the first chairman of the Department of Poultry Husbandry established in 1961 at West Pakistan Agriculture University (Now Agricultural University Faisalabad). He also remained Director Animal Husbandry Balochistan and established Sibi Livestock Farm. He wrote regularly in newspapers to bring awareness among the people about the important national issues.
