VC Of Universities Approves Budge For Higher Education

The Vice Chancellors' Committee extensively reviewed higher education funding of Rs 58.50 billion for the next financial year
Islamabad (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 22nd April, 2019) The Vice Chancellors' Committee extensively reviewed higher education funding of Rs 58.50 billion for the next financial year.The 23rd meeting of the committee was held on Monday here.
The committee representing 195 VCs, rectors and heads of degree awarding institutions adopted the resolution unanimously which said that Vice Chancellors' Committee is fully cognizant of the financial constraints being faced by the government and commends government's assurances at all levels to try its best to maintain higher education funding.All the same, the goals of improving the quality of learning and research and protecting rights of students will require adequate funding, and may be compromised if funding is restricted to the IBC (Indicated Budgetary Ceiling) of Rs.
58.50 billion for the next FY 2019-20.The Vice Chancellors will support and work with the government by increasing efficiency and optimizing use of available resources, raising funds from all possible avenues, reducing operational cost and lessoning non-productive expenses, etc.
but reiterate that the quality goals will require much higher financing than the indicated ceiling.
