The Student Volunteer Foundation (YSS) will continue to cooperate with the 10 ASEAN member countries to produce student volunteers of international standard, says its chairman Zuraidah Atan.
"ASEAN has recognized the programme and mission of YSS and this should be continued to benefit all ASEAN students," she told Bernama after the closing ceremony of the Volunteer Leadership Programme and YSS-ASEAN-China Alumni Strategic Retreat in Bangi Sunday.
The five-day programme saw 200 YSS students and alumni share experiences, discuss the direction to be taken and ways to improve the implementation of the volunteer mission operations as well as inculcate leadership skills among them.
Zuraidah urged the students to remain committed to volunteer work at university level before applying to join YSS.
YSS was established in 2012 and has 1,500 members and alumni, who have taken part in various missions and programmes in ASEAN countries and France.
