5.898mln Kids To Get OPV In Anti-polio Campaign

The preparations for three days anti polio campaign has been completed in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa where over 5.898 million children under five years of age would be vaccinated
The campaign will formally start from Jan 21 (Monday) in all districts of KP for which all arrangements were completed.
In this connection, a high-level meeting was held with Coordinator Emergency Operation Centre (EOC), Captain (Retd) Kamran Khan Afridi in the chair and reviewed overall arrangements for it.
Director Expanded Programme for Immunization, Dr Akram Shah, UNICEF Team Leader, Dr Muhammad Johar, Focal Person BMG, Dr Imtiaz Ali Shah, Team Leader WHO, Dr Abadi and other officers attended the meeting.
The meeting decided to hold vaccination campaign in 12 Afghan Refugees and Temporarily Displaced Persons camps also, and that around 27,300 teams would take part in the campaign.
As many as 19,398 mobile, 1,620 fixed, 999 transit and 185 roaming teams will take part in the campaign to be monitored by 5,098 area in-charges while 30,000 policemen and law enforcers will provide security to make the province-wise campaign successful.
