Action Against Clinics At Bahawalpur's Hospitals Ordered

Following the instructions received from the higher authorities of the Health Department, Government of Punjab, Principal Quaid-e-Azam Medical College Bahawalpur has directed imposing ban on running business of private laboratories, ultrasound centers and private clinics at the medical colony of the college and Bahawal Victoria Hospital.
BAHAWALPUR, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 23rd Feb, 2018 ) :Following the instructions received from the higher authorities of the Health Department, Government of Punjab, Principal Quaid-e-Azam Medical College Bahawalpur has directed imposing ban on running business of private laboratories, ultrasound centers and private clinics at the medical colony of the college and Bahawal Victoria Hospital.
Official sources said that Prof. Dr Javed Iqbal, Principal, Quaid-e-Azam Medical College Bahawalpur issued directives to ban business of private laboratories, ultrasound centers and private clinics within the jurisdiction of the college and the hospital.
"Medical colony of Quaid-e-Azam Medical College and Bahawal Victoria Hospital is spread over several acres of land and it is one of largest covered area medical colonies of the country," they said, adding that but some doctors and paramedics had been running private business of laboratories, ultrasound centers and clinics at the residential quarters allotted to them.
They further said that directives had also been issued on stay of outsiders in the medical colony. "There were reports that some outsiders have got official medical colony's residential quarters on rent from the employees' the hospital and medical college," the official sources said, adding that action were also being taken against the outsiders.
They said that such orders had also been issued for medical colonies of other state-run hospitals and medical colleges.
