All TB Patients To Undergo HIV Test

All patients suffering from tuberculosis(TB) will have to undergo an HIV test to avoid its spread.

LAHORE, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 12th Sep, 2018 ) :All patients suffering from tuberculosis(TB) will have to undergo an HIV test to avoid its spread.

This was stated by Director Provincial TB Control Programme Punjab, Dr Zarfishan Tahir while speaking in an Inter-district Programme organised by Provincial TB Control Programme here on Wednesday.

She said that a TB patient might be suffered from many other disease as well,therefore,HIV test of a TB patient was must.

However, after Muharram, screening camps would be held in south Punjab by teams of the TB control Programme.

The control, treatment and searching of new patients of TB at district level was also reviewed in the programme.

Dr Zarfishn said that intensive work regarding TB control was required in south Punjab,therefore, teams of TB control programme would set up screening camps in Multan, Bahawalpur and DG Khan districts.

The screening kits for HIV test will be provided by the Punjab AIDS Programme.

Addition Director Dr Asif, Dr Javeria, District TB coordinators and district lab supervisors also attended the programme.
