Anti-Polio Drive Faces Disturbance Due To Rain In Rawalpindi

Incharge Anti Polio drive, Ch Muhammad Hussain Monday said that the five-day anti-polio campaign which was scheduled to start on December 10 in the entire district faced disturbance due to intermittent rain started on Sunday night.
Talking to APP, he said only children upto five were administered anti-polio drops available at schools and madrassas.
Hussain said that as soon as the weather condition returns to normalcy, the campaign may be extended for one more day as we have so far administered polio drops to around 20,000 children, adding the set target to administer drops to 850,250 children would be achieved as the campaign would start again.
He informed that 2787 polio teams including 2333 mobile teams, 287 fixed points,119 transit points,221 Union council medical officers and 496 area incharges are participating in the drive.
He said staff deployed for the campaign have been instructed that no negligence in this regard would be tolerated.
Hussain advised the parents to come forward and play their role to ensure vaccination of their children toeliminate the disease
