Anti Polio Drive To Commence From Jan 21 In Dir Lower

A preparatory meeting of the District Polio Eradication Committee was held here with Deputy Commissioner Dr Shaukat Ali Yousafai in the chair for the upcoming anti polio drive commencing from Jan 21-24
The meeting was attended by Assistant Commissioners, WHO representative Dr Amir Atique, PEO Dr Faisal Kamal, DHIS Coordinator Dr Jamal Masar and Zakaria.
A total of 483 mobile teams ,72 fixed teams, 46 transit teams and 19 roaming teams will take part in the activities to vaccinate all under five years children across the district DHO Dr Shaukat Ali briefed the forum regarding the preparation made for the upcoming NID stating that 100 percent Desk validation of the Microplans have been conducted with all the mandatory corrective measures taken out.
The Deputy Commissioner stressed that due to the confirmation of polio cases in the neighboring Bajaur district has put the district at greater risk and no effort should be spared to vaccinate 100 percent target children.
DHO Dr Shaukat Ali said that they need to make effective plan for High Risk Mobile population ,so as to lesson the prevailing threat of getting polio virus around.
It was agreed that permanent transit teams will be developed at points where the influx of migrants and nomads is expected. It was emphasized that strict monitoring of the NID will be carried out so to make the campaign a success.
