Around 0.3 Million Children To Be Immunized Against Measles In Nawabshah

The Deputy Commissioner Shaheed Benazirabad, Abrar Ahmed Jaffar, urged parents to immunize their children aged 9 months to five years against Measles during 12 day vaccination campaign commencing from October 15 to October 27, 2018.
NAWABSHAH, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 13th Oct, 2018 ) :The Deputy Commissioner Shaheed Benazirabad, Abrar Ahmed Jaffar, urged parents to immunize their children aged 9 months to five years against Measles during 12 day vaccination campaign commencing from October 15 to October 27, 2018.
Addressing a meeting convened to review arrangements of the campaign on Friday the DC said that the vaccination was safe so children get vaccinated without any fear. He hoped that vaccination campaign would prove successful with the cooperation of parents, civil society and media.
Instructing all line department to cooperate with health department during the campaign and directed assistant commissioners to monitor the working of medical officials and staff of the Union Council and remain alert to combat any untoward incident. He also warned of strict action in case any negligence.
On the occasion Deputy Commissioner congratulated officials and staff of health department on successful completion of anti-polio campaign and expressed the hope that health department would make the Measles campaign successful with same passion.
Briefing the meeting District Health Officer (DHO), Dr Yousuf Zardari and Dr Ghulam Qadir Rajput said that during the campaign 2,93,301 children between the age of 9 months to five years would be vaccinated and in this regard all arrangements are finalized along with assigning of duties to doctors and paramedical staff at union council, tehsil and district level with complete training of vaccinating teams.
They said that in district 63 fix and 197 outreach sites teams were formed those include trained staff, team assistant and lady health workers. They said that arrangements were made at 1960 schools of the district for vaccination of children.The meeting was also attended by Divisional Surveillance Officer World Health Organization Dr Abdul Wahid Bhurt, District Manager HIS Dr Daulat Jamali, District Focal EPI Dr Ghulam Sarwar Khaskheli, Assistant Commissioners, officials of departments of Police, population, health, social welfare and other departments.
