Eyes Sight, Mental Health On Stake: Experts

The health experts in a panel discussion were expressing their concern about the excessive use of social media and mobile phone that left people with a problems like depression, anxiety and sleep issues, beside a weaker bonds among members of the family.
Talking to private news channel, a Psychologist of Benazir Bhutto Hospital Rawalpindi, Dr. Sajid said that there was a significant increase in the psychiatric patients now a days. He said he has come to know about the people who were suffering from psychiatric problem that their social media viewing through mobile phone were more than 14 hours a day.
Spending too much time on the social media, was a serious threat to the mental and emotional health of the people, he added.
An Eye Specialist of Shafia International Hospital Dr. Nazir Ahamad said that one of the main reason of weak eyesight among youth, especially school going children were their tv and mobile phone exposure.
While switching to mobile phone or TV, he said that people, particularly children forget to blinking their eyes in a proper way,resultently they were complaining about their blurry vision.
