The protest in front of Punjab Assembly entered the third day on Wednesday
LAHORE- (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News- 20th March, 2019) The protest of lady health workers entered the third day on Wednesday as the participants were not ready to leave the site without acceptance of their demands.
Around 1,000 lady workers were gathered in Lahore on Monday from different cities and they staged the sit-in in front of Punjab Assembly. The protesting workers were demanding the revival of pay-scale, service structure and increase in salaries.
They refused to call off the protest until the acceptance of their demands.
The government on the other side claimed that it had accepted the demands of lady health workers. Punjab Health Minister Dr. Yasmin Rashid said all fair demands of lady health workers were accepted but now they were only playing politics. She said it was up to the protestors now that they wanted to call off the protest or continue their protest. The government, she said, would not surrender before their unjust demands.
