Malaysia Reports 14,990 New COVID-19 Cases, 487 New Deaths

Malaysia reported another 14,990 new COVID-19 infections as of midnight Thursday, bringing the national total to 2,142,924, according to the health ministry
KUALA LUMPUR, Sept. 23 (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 23rd Sep, 2021 ) --:Malaysia reported another 14,990 new COVID-19 infections as of midnight Thursday, bringing the national total to 2,142,924, according to the health ministry.
Five of the new cases are imported and 14,985 are local transmissions, data released on the ministry's website showed.
Another 487 more deaths have been reported, bringing the death toll to 24,565.
About 19,702 patients have been released after recovery, bringing the total number of cured and discharged to 1,917,085.
Of the remaining 201,274 active cases, 1,114 are being held in intensive care units and 615 of those are in need of assisted breathing.
The country administered 321,342 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine on Wednesday alone, and some 68.4 percent of the population have received at least one dose and 58.1 percent have been fully vaccinated.
