Meet Dr Maaz Ul Hassan, Who Performed The Surgery Of World’s Heaviest Person

He is the only bariatric surgeon in Pakistan and has performed hundreds of operations for obesity.
Islamabad (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 14th January, 2019) Doctor Maaz ul Hassan of Pakistan is known for doing the surgery of world’s heaviest person.
He is a specialist in laparoscopic surgery, hepatobiliary surgery and bariatric surgery and performed surgical obesity treatment of the world's heaviest person (612 kg).
He is the only bariatric surgeon in Pakistan and has performed hundreds of operations for obesity.
The success rate of his surgeries is quite high (over 95%) as his approach to surgery for obesity is very safe and effective.
Speaking to urdu Point exclusively, Dr Maaz said that people should always go for expert surgeons to avoid any complications. He said that follow up is also very important after laparoscopic surgery.
Dr Maaz said that the surgery is performed according to body mass index (BMI).
If a person appears overweight on bmi (30 for Asians), then he qualifies for the surgery.
The doctor recommended people to get their BMI done.
About the high ratio of obesity in the country, he said people should eat grilled food and maintain their lifestyle.
He said he only performs surgery on the people who have tried all the ways to lose weight, adding that people can get rid of diabetes with this surgery.
Impressed by his work, people from various areas come to his clinic to get treatment for obesity. The patients who had undergone the surgery were specifically satisfied with Dr Maaz. They encouraged other obese people to undergo this surgery to live a better life.
