Midwifery System To Be Reactivated In Punjab Hospitals: Minister

Punjab Health Minister Dr Yasmin Rashid has said that midwifery system will be reactivated in the province
She said this in a meeting, attended by DG Health Services Punjab Dr Haroon Jahangir and Dr Akhter Rasheed.
The minister was briefed about the problems facing the midwifery system in Punjab.
She said that the basic purpose of reviving the midwifery system was to protect the health of mother and child and control mortality rate among the duo during pregnency and post-delivery process. She said that there is dire need to control the death rate of mother and newborn during the gynae procedure.
Dr Yasmin said that all-out resources were being utilised for the success of anti-polio campaign, starting from April 22 to 25. She said that provision of quality and standardised healthcare facilities to patients in public sector hospital was top priority of the government.
