Minister Directs To Ensures Clean Drinking Water & Freemedicines In Hospitals

Provincial Minister for Specialized Healthcare & Medical Education (SH&ME) Khwaja Salman Rafique directed heads of medical educational and healthcare institutions and teaching hospitals to complete arrangement for clean drinking water to patients and their attendants.
LAHORE, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 25th Apr, 2018 ) :Provincial Minister for Specialized Healthcare & Medical education (SH&ME) Khwaja Salman Rafique directed heads of medical educational and healthcare institutions and teaching hospitals to complete arrangement for clean drinking water to patients and their attendants.
He directed that installation of RO plants (Reverse Osmosis), electric water coolers, dispensers etc should be completed within a week. He directed that heads of all the institutions had to furnish a certificate to the department in this regard.
He stated this while presiding over a video link meeting of all the heads of medical universities, colleges, teaching hospitals and specialized healthcare institutions in the committee room of the department here on Wednesday.
Besides, Secretary Health Najam Ahmad Shah, Vice Chancellors, principals of medical universities/medical colleges, Chief Executives, medical superintendents of all the teaching hospitals and specialized healthcare institutions attended the meeting.
All the institutions apprised the meeting of the ongoing arrangements for the provision of clean drinking water in the institutions. The meeting also reviewed the availability of free medicine in the emergency departments of the hospitals.
It was informed that hundred percent free medicines were being provided to the patients in the Accident & Emergency Departments of the hospitals. Secretary health Najam Ahmad Shah directed that visible boards be displayed at the site of drinking water so that people could get water for drinking only from the specified places.
Minister Health Khawaja Salman Rafique further directed that laboratory tests of patients should also be ensured from the hospitals labs.
