Minister For Enhancing Allocation On Healthcare Sector

Federal Minister for National Health Services Regulations and Coordination Aamer Mehmood Kiani on Monday said that during last 70 years, healthcare sector has not been given the attention and there was a dire need to enhance the allocation for the health sector in order for ensuring access to quality healthcare facilities for all.
ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 24th Sep, 2018 ) :Federal Minister for National Health Services Regulations and Coordination Aamer Mehmood Kiani on Monday said that during last 70 years, healthcare sector has not been given the attention and there was a dire need to enhance the allocation for the health sector in order for ensuring access to quality healthcare facilities for all.
Addressing the first Annual Health Research Conference organized by Pakistan Health Research Council (PHRC), the Minister expressed his gratitude to the President Dr Arif Alvi for patronizing the Ministry and research in the country. He also congratulated Pakistan Health Research Council for promoting the research despite having meager allocations and termed this event as an important landmark in the history of research in the country.
Speaking on the occasion Secretary National Health Services said that the country has enormous potential if proper platform was provided, adding that the Conference has received overwhelming response from the research community of the country.
The Conference was poised to become a trend setter for others to emulate and therefore play role in generating the evidence for translating into policies, he added and told that 250 research studies would share in the two-day Conference.
Dr Faisal Sultan, a renowned expert of Infectious diseases reiterated that promoting research and making targeted efforts is key to attain our international commitments in the form of Sustainable Development Goals 2030. He expressed his hope that the President's presence at Health Research Conference is a great encouragement that will promote research and health in the country.
