Ministers Promise To Enhance Engineers' Pay Packages

Punjab Minister for Health Dr Yasmin Rashid and Minister for Irrigation Sardar Mohsin Leghari have assured the public sector engineers that the provincial government would take solid steps to enhance their pay packages and also look into the matter of delayed promotions of engineers.
A delegation of Punjab Engineers Association, led by President Waqas Javed, called on Dr Yasmin Rashid and Sardar Mohsin Legahri here on Saturday and discussed issues related to the pay packages, service structure and delay in promotions.
Both ministers praised the services rendered by engineers and said that engineers belonged to most qualified class of society and no stone should remain unturned for their betterment.
"The Punjab government would seriously consider enhancement in salaries of engineers besides revieweing service structure and promotion pattern," the health minister said.
She commended the delegation for preferring dialogue over street protest and said that "Table talk was the best way to reach consensus on any issue".
Minister for Irrigation Sardar Mohsin Leghari said that engineers of Irrigation, C&W and Public Health Engineering departments were playing pivotal role in developing infrastructure. He said that Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar had ordered for solving problems facing the public sector engineers.
