PaRRSA Reconstructs 12 Militancy Affected BHUs In Malakand

The Provincial Reconstruction, Rehabilitation & Settlement Authority (PaRRSA) had undertaken activities on a large scale to reconstruct insurgency damaged Basic Health Units (BHUs) in various parts of the Malakand Division.
PESHAWAR, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 16th Oct, 2018 ) :The Provincial Reconstruction, Rehabilitation & Settlement Authority (PaRRSA) had undertaken activities on a large scale to reconstruct insurgency damaged Basic Health Units (BHUs) in various parts of the Malakand Division.
The reconstruction of these BHUs is carried out on modern architectural designs to with stand earth quakes. These BHUs will provide basic health facilities to people of Malakand Division within region, said a press release issued here Tuesday.
PaRRSA in collaboration with USAID (KPRP) has reconstructed 12 Basic Health Units (5 fully, 7 partially damaged BHUs) in far-flung areas of Malakand Division. These BHUs are fully operational for the patients. In Distract Swat 10 BHUs are reconstructed including BHU Bandai, BHU Shamozai, CD Parai Swat, CD Telegram, BHU Shalphin,etc and one each in Distract Buner and Lower Dir.
People, especially those living in remote areas, are the most benefitting as basic health facilities are now available (free of cost) in their respective communities. They used to travel to the far away main towns/cities for getting treatment of minor health issues thus resulting in saving of time and financial resources especially during emergencies.
The children are also getting relief from these BHUs as Malakand Division has comparatively a cold climate and seasonal viruses/infections are common among children.
The people are now expressing more confidence in the health facilities and an increase in OPD. PaRRSA focused on the reconstruction of these BHUs to provide health facilities to people ofthis region. BHUs also have residential quarters for the staff.
