Polio Eradication Campaign Gears Up In Hyderabad

HYDERABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 22nd Jan, 2019 ) :The mobile vaccination teams have geared up the polio eradication campaign with vaccination of around 332268 children under five years of age in all four talukas of Hyderabad district on Tuesday.

The focal person on polio Dr. Masood Jaferi informed that the vaccinators could not carry out the vaccination of under aged children due to rainfall in Hyderabad yesterday however, from Tuesday, they started visiting door to door for administering anti-polio drops to children.

Around one thousand vaccinators have been engaged in immunizing anti-polio drops to children in Hyderabad City, Latifabad, Qasimabad and Hyderabad Rural talukas of the district, he informed and added that 244 area incharges, 11 taluka supervisors and medical officers of 83 union councils of the district are monitoring the performance of vaccination teams.

Besides door to door vaccination, he informed that anti-polio drops were also being administered to under aged children at 117 fixed centres and 11 transit points of the district.
