Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar Inaugurates MRI Machine At PIC

Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar on Thursday inaugurated the latest cardiac MRI machine at Punjab Institute of Cardiology (PIC).

LAHORE, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 8th Nov, 2018 ) :Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar on Thursday inaugurated the latest cardiac MRI machine at Punjab Institute of Cardiology (PIC).

The machine has been purchased for Rs 300 million.

He visited the emergency block and inquired patients about the health facilities being provided to them.

Minister briefed about the treatment facilities being provided to patients in the PIC. He also inaugurated the CT angio-machine, which was a first of its kind in the country.

Similarly, cardiac MRI machine will provide international standard diagnosis facilities.

The CM appreciated the efforts of friends of PIC and said that start of air-ambulance would also be considered.Latest facilities will be provided in hospitals so that the needy and indigent patients could get qualitative treatment facilities, he added.

He said that the PIC model would be extended to remote and far-flung areas, adding that healthcare system would be further improved to provide the best facilities to patients.

"It is my desire that quality healthcare facilities should be available in remote areas round-the-clock and the latest cardiac hospitals should also be established in backward localities, he added.

Talking to the media, the CM said that 2.5 lakh patients were being provided treatment facilities at the PIC every year, adding that he was happy that emergency had been extended to 200 beds and state-of-the-art facilities were being provided in that hospital.

He also thanked Friends of Punjab Institute of Cardiology for the construction of emergency block adding that Gohar Ejaz and his companions had done a praiseworthy job in this regard.

He said that the PTI-led government in Punjab had got limited budget and work was being done for betterment of healthcare system within the limited financial resources.

He informed that Multan Institute of Cardiology and Wazirabad Institute of Cardiology would also be upgraded and facilities would be further improved in Recep Tayyip Erodgan Hospital Muzaffargarh.

Similarly, cardiac facilities would be made better in DG Khan and Bahawalpur and people would soon feel a change in the health field.

The CM said that every job was being done on merit in Punjab and postings of officers were also being made on merit.

Spokesperson for CM, Shahbaz Gill, CEO PIC Prof Nadeem Hayat Malik, Gohar Ijaz of FPIC, MS and different philanthropistswere also present on the occasion.
