TPL Maps Marks Wheel Chair Accessible Locations To Commemorate World Health Day

As many as 60 hospitals and shopping malls along with famous places to be marked within the mobile app in its initial stage
Karachi (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 10th Apr, 2018 ) TPL Maps, Pakistan’s first digital mapping solution continues to roll out innovative, user-driven capabilities on its next generation mobile app services.
Recently the tech firm decided to work for the handicapped population of Pakistan by integrating wheelchair access points in its TPL Maps application to commemorate ‘World Health Day’.
In its initial stage the service will be launched in the major cities of Pakistan: Karachi, Lahore and Islamabad while more access points in different cities will be added to the service in due time.
The digital mapping service will mark 60 hospitals and shopping malls, along with other renowned places with wheelchair accessibility on the application, in a bid to make life easier for the physically impaired citizens.
Regarding the initiative, Ms. Anika Effendi, Group Head External Relations & CSR at TPL Corp said, “Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) remains at the heart of everything we do at the company.
We give utmost priority towards the dignity for our employees and the stakeholders at large. “Keeping this in mind, the TPL Maps team took this brilliant initiative in order to add value to people’s lives, recognizing the needs of others and making the app useful for the physically challenged in Pakistan.

This initiative will help empower the handicapped community, while the loved ones of the wheel chair bound individuals will become more equipped to support them. The population of the people with disability in Pakistan is around 0.48% of the total population which accumulates to around a million adults and children according to the 6th Population and housing census 2017.
In other countries, there are tons of mapping applications accessible for day to day navigational purposes, while TPL Maps is first of its kind to be launched in Pakistan, with the Primary aim of creating a global recognition of the country for all.
TPL Maps has the largest location database with over 250+ cities, 3.2 million geo coded addresses and over 300,000+ Km of road networks mapped across Pakistan, becoming the first indigenous digital mapping company of Pakistan, providing free services licensed by Survey of Pakistan.
