AJK Cabinet Approves Rs. 1.320 Billion For Completion Of Three Of Under-construction Mass Public Welfare Projects Of The Current Fiscal Year Of 2018-19 In AJK

Azad Jammu Kashmir cabinet Wednesday accorded formal approval for completion of three of the mass public welfare projects of over Rs 1. 320 billion at separate places in the State
The AJK cabinet Development Committee met to review the development projects of the financial year 2018-19 with the Prime Minister Farooq Haider Khan in the Chair.
The meeting approved the three projects to be completed at a cost of Rs. 1,32, 54,00,000. The projects involve the communication and works including the up-gradation and reconditioning of 40 link roads in Muzaffarabad district and the construction of six buildings each of inter-colleges and degree colleges in the capital district.
Addressing the meeting, the AJK Prime Minister said his government spent development budget according to people's needs and under a long comprehensive planning. Pointing out flaws of previous governments, he said that the projects were approved under proper strategy or priority. "On average Rs. 20 million were kept annually of Rs. 500' million project for which lots of time and resources were spent till completion of the project", he stated.
Farooq Haider asserted, "the present government not only completed the development projects of the former government but also kicked off hundreds of new projects".
"Due to previous government's blemishes and poor planning, today we need 40 crore's budget for the project of construction of houses for education department. Same is the position of other departments" he said.
The AJK Prime Minister asserted that his government not only secured the development budget doubled but also spent it on ground which could be viewed by one. He said his government was planning to ensure that people's basic needs are met and dream of durable development is materialized in the next five years. He urged for timely and standard completion of all the ongoing development projects with accelerated pace of work. "It is our top priority to provide basic amenities of life to people at their door step", he added.
Haider said his government continues development process in view of needs of the people and not on political motivation. He emphasized the ministers and secretaries to ensure effective monitoring of the projects with transparency.
The meeting was attended among others by Senior Minister Ch. Tariq Farooq, ministers, AJK Chief Secretary Daud Ahmed Khan, Additional Chief Secretary Development Dr. Syed Asif Hussain, secretaries and heads of various government departments.
