AJK Govt Plans To Set Up Cardiac Center

Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) government has planned to set up a cardiac center in Muzaffarabad during upcoming fiscal year to facilitate people of cardiac treatment
Prime Minister Raja Farooq Haider Khan has approved a project worth Rs 240 million which would be completed with the collaboration of Abbas Institute of Medical Sciences (AIMS), a public sector hospital having capacity of secondary health care facilities, said an official statement issued here.
The hospital would have facility of angiography and angioplasty. Presently people in Azad Jammu and Kashmir have to move to Islamabad or Rawalpindi for cardiac related treatments.
The setting up of a cardiac hospital in AJK was a longstanding demand of the people which could not fulfilled so for due to constraint of funds.
