AJK President Sardar Muhammad Masood Khan expresses satisfaction over development plan

Expressing satisfaction on development plans, President Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) Sardar Muhammad Masood Khan Monday said that government was striving to bring prosperity in the region to compete with other developing areas .

MUZAFFARABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 7th Jan, 2019 ) :Expressing satisfaction on development plans, President Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) Sardar Muhammad Masood Khan Monday said that government was striving to bring prosperity in the region to compete with other developing areas .

Speaking at a briefing given by additional chief secretary (ACS) development Dr. Asif Hussain Shah, the president acknowledged the standard of planning of the department.

He said AJK government was committed to achieve the goal of self reliance through development and bringing prosperity in the region as well as willing to extend its cooperation with the government in center to achieve the desired goals for progress and prosperity of the country.

"We wish that people in the state would get benefit from the peaceful environment and better educational facilities and bring good name for this territory in general and for the country in particular serving around the globe," Khan emphasized adding that the professionals from the area had been serving abroad in the different fields which was a matter of pride for the region.

He said AJK had been introduced by these professionals as a peaceful and forward moving area in terms of education and literacy and they are the pride of society.

"We can turn the region as an education hub by improving standards and facilities for our youths as well as for student hailing from other parts of the country," he remarked.

He said many countries of the world were prepared to invest and provide assistance in the field of Primary and secondary education as well as for the promotion of tourism while the Federal government was keen to promote the tourism and directed the planning department to work on comprehensive plans in these areas.

He said Kohala hydro power project and energy projects of Muzaffarabad were vital for the national development however, he said the environmental problems linked to them could not be ignored and expressed his optimism that committee constituted by the federal government will find some solution of the problems.
