AJK Superior Judiciary celebrates Founding Day of AJK

The AJK flag hoisting ceremonies on Founding Day of Azad Jammu and Kashmir were held under the auspices of AJK Supreme High Courts to mark the founding anniversary in the State's metropolis.

MIRPUR (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 25th Oct, 2018 ) ,:The AJK flag hoisting ceremonies on Founding Day of Azad Jammu and Kashmir were held under the auspices of AJK Supreme High Courts to mark the founding anniversary in the State's metropolis.

Registrar AJK Supreme Court Sardar Muhammad Rahim Khan hoisted the flag at Supreme Court building in presence of officers and employees of the court. It was also attended by lawyers. A smartly turned out contingent of police gave salami on the occasion.

At the High Court building Chief Justice M.Tabassum Aftab Alvi hoisted the State flag. Justice Muhammad Shiraz Kiani, Justice Sadaquat Hussain Raja, Justice Ch. Muhammad Munir and Justice Raza Ali Khan were present on the occasion.

The AJK national anthem was played while a smartly turned out police outfit gave salami to mark the Day. A large number of lawyers attended the ceremony.

Addressing on the occasion, Justice Alvi said the Day holds great importance in the history of Azad Jammu and Kashmir when valiant people freed this region from the despotic Dogra forces at their own.

He paid rich tributes to the people of IHK who he said, have held the torch of freedom high and offered over one hundred thousand lives in this journey of liberation. In his message to the struggling people of IHK he said people of AJK stand with children, young men, women and elderly who have been target of brute Indian forces in the valley. We share their trials, tribulations and pains in this arduous struggle, he said.

He also strongly demanded on behalf of AJK judiciary and lawyer fraternity to UN to play its role in implementation of resolution on right to self-determination to give people of Kashmir right to exercise their free will to determine their future. He expressed surprise over reticence of international community at the bloodbath by Indian forces in IHK.
