All Parties Hurriyat Conference Concerned Over Declining Health Condition Of Detainees

All Parties Hurriyat Conference, expressing concern over the deteriorating health condition of illegally detained Kashmiris are being ill-treated and subjected to mental and physical torture in jails.

APHC spokesman in a statement issued in Srinagar said that the authorities of Kot Bhalwal Jail were responsible for the death of late Ghulam Hassan Malik alias Noor Khan as no proper and specific treatment was provided to him, according to Kashmir Media Service.
The spokesman lashing out at jail authorities for their callous and inhuman approach said that the Kashmiri prisoners in jails were deprived of medical treatment. "Unavailability of medicines and medical care and substandard quality of food is taking tool on their health," he added.
The APHC spokesman while citing the ill treatment meted out to the detainees said that on one pretext or the other they were harassed, intimidated and subjected to political vendetta.
He condemned the illegal detention of Hurriyat leader, Ghulam Nabi Sumjhi, in police station Bijbehara and barring him from offering Friday prayers. He termed the act as an open aggression and interference in religious affairs.
The spokesman appealed to the international human rights organizations to conduct visits to the jails of occupied Kashmir and India to see for themselves the plight of the Kashmiri prisoners.
Meanwhile, APHC leader, Molvi Bashir Ahmed Irfani, addressing a gathering at Hyderpora Masjid in Srinagar paid glowing tributes to late Ghulam Hassan Malik and extended his condolences to the bereaved family.
