ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 23rd Apr, 2019 ) :Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) President Sardar Masood Khan while expressing his deep concern over ill-treatment meted out to the imprisoned Kashmiri leader Muhammad Yasin Malik has demanded his immediate release from jail and permission to his family to meet him.
"Yasin Malik's life is under serious threat, as his hunger strike has entered 13th day on Tuesday, Sardar Masood said in a statement.
He termed the cases framed against him by India's National Investigation Agency (NIA) as fake and fabricated. The AJK president said that reports reaching here from Indian Occupied Kashmir were causing serious concernforthe government and people of Azad Jammu and Kashmir.
Describing illegal detention of Yasin Malik as an attempt to silence the voices of freedom fighters, Masood Khan said suchtactics couldn't deter the Kashmiri people from pursuing their mission and prevent them from their struggle for securing their right to self-determination.
Saying that coercive measures, killings, detentions and suppression of innocent people will further lead to devastation in Indian Occupied Kashmir, the president said that the state-sponsored policy of Indian rulers in the occupied territory can never force the people of Kashmir to surrender.
AJK president also demanded safe return of women from AJK and Pakistan currently stranded in Occupied Kashmir and said those who went to IOK after marrying to IOK youths should either be given citizenship or allowed them to return to their parents by providing them travel document.
Sardar Masood Khan alsocondemned the ban imposed by India on Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front and Jamaat-e-Islami Jammu Kashmir and said the ban on the two parties by the Indian government was another example of highhandedness and muscular approach to deal with the political issue of Jammu and Kashmir.
